furnace inspectionHere in Cincinnati, there's another three or four months of heater weather. That means three to four months of potential energy loss and unnecessary wear and tear on your furnace if it hasn't been tuned up yet. It's never too late to schedule your furnace inspection, and enjoy reduced utility bills, lowered repair bills and improved whole-home comfort and indoor air quality.

The following are some of the benefits you'll gain by scheduling a furnace inspection sooner, rather than later.

Energy Savings
. Routine furnace inspections and tune-ups are the key to an energy efficient heating system. Without annual furnace maintenance, your heating system can never meet its advertised AFUE and you will begin to see a steady increase in your winter utility bills. Replacing worn parts, lubricating moving mechanical parts, cleaning the equipment and changing the filter all contribute to a more efficient furnace.

Reduced repair bills. During the inspection, the HVAC technician will be able to repair small issues before they become larger ones. This results in lowered repair bills throughout the heating season and will lessen your chances of an inconvenient breakdown, which always seems to happen in the midst of a record cold spell.

Protect your warranty. Most furnace warranties are only valid if the equipment has been regularly maintained by a licensed HVAC technician. If your heating equipment has a major malfunction or requires a costly replacement part, the manufacturer will want to see a paper trail of your maintenance records. Failure to provide one may void your warranty.

Whole-house comfort and indoor air quality. During your furnace inspection, the technician will verify the accuracy of your thermostat, make sure the system cycles on/off properly, and will adjust the airflow as needed. He will also change the air filter and clean the equipment. These maintenance tasks will improve your whole-house comfort and indoor air quality.
