Lock In Customer Satisfaction With This Checklist To Double-Check HVAC Work

Not all HVAC companies are created equal. And when it comes to customer satisfaction, working with companies that skimp on important areas of care and certification ultimately affects you, the homeowner. Ensure that your home systems receive the best care and attention to detail possible with the HVAC contractor that works on yourhome systems. This will not only lead to a high-quality job, but it will also improve customer satisfaction.
Ask the following questions of any HVAC company, before granting access to your HVAC systems:
- Check with the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) to ensure the company is licensed within the state of Ohio.
- Ask your contractor if it's necessary to procure any city permits before starting the work—and who is responsible for obtaining the permits.
- Ask each company to provide at least three references from former clients. Call the clients to ensure the company performed the work with optimal customer satisfaction.
- Get a contract for the work in writing. Make sure the contract states exactly what the company will do, such as install heating and cooling equipment, add insulation, or retrofit a duct system. The contractor should contain detailed information about fees, expected completion date, payment schedule and any necessary down payments.
If a company hesitates to give you these details and information, take that as an indication to move on. Not only will shoddy work compromise your home comfort, but you can also get into serious legal trouble or safety issues by using un-certified technicians. Keep your family and home safe by always using a certified and experienced HVAC company.

My gas bill has been getting bigger every year for the last few winters. Is there anything I can do to cut back? I keep my thermostat about as low as I can.
